Evgeny Smirnov是南宫NG28集团的客座副教授，，他正在俄罗斯国立高等经济研究型大学（HSE）和莫斯科自力大学数学系休学术假期。。。
在Michel Brion和Ernest Vinberg的配合指导下，，他获得了法国格勒诺布尔大学（Université Joseph Fourier）和俄罗斯莫斯科国立大学的博士学位。。。在此之前，，他在莫斯科自力大学和罗蒙诺索夫莫斯科国立大学（Lomonossov Moscow State University）获得数学硕士学位。。。2007年至2009年，，他在德国波恩大学豪斯多夫数学中心（Hausdorff Center for Mathematics of the University of Bonn）担当博士后研究员。。。
他的研究兴趣集中以下方面：：algebraic combinatorics and its relations to algebraic geometry, especially geometry of varieties with group actions (toric varieties, spherical varieties, in particular, Grassmannians and flag varieties) and representation theory.
