Basking in the gentle sun, health care at GTIIT continues to warm up. From professional medical consultations to healthcare policy explanations, GTIIT has successively organized two health-themed events to support the well-being of the community.
Free clinics on campus
Recently, GTIIT Clinic invited experts from the Traditional Chinese Medicine Rehabilitation Department and the Tuina Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Shantou University Medical College, along with the ophthalmology team from Shantou Balder Eye Hospital, to the campus, providing professional and convenient free medical services for faculty and students.

The event was well-organized in a warm atmosphere. In the TCM diagnosis and treatment area, experts addressed common issues from prolonged desk work, such as neck, shoulder, back, and leg pain, as well as muscle strain. They offered one-on-one consultations, tuina adjustments, and acupuncture treatments, and provided guidance on rehabilitation exercises tailored to individual conditions. Their skilled techniques and professional advice drew widespread acclaim, with many participants calling the experience "comforting" and "practical."

In the eye examination area, doctors conducted vision tests and basic eye checks, carefully screening for common issues like dry eye syndrome, eye fatigue, and refractive errors. Considering habits of using electronic devices, the doctors also offered scientific advice for eye protection.

The thoughtful services, which teachers and students attended in an orderly manner, were widely praised for spreading warmth across the university community.
Medical insurance within reach
Meanwhile, the Healthcare Security Bureau of Jinping District, Shantou carried out the 2026 publicity campaign on medical insurance policies for urban and rural residents on campus.

At the event, one-on-one consultation booths were set up, where staff meticulously explained the insurance policy, payment standards, and reimbursement procedures. They addressed popular questions such as "How do I get reimbursed for medical treatment in a different city?" and "What is the annual outpatient coverage limit?" one by one, bridging the "last mile" of policy implementation through this "zero-distance" service.

To make the event more engaging, fun games like "Angry Birds" and "Quick Hands" were specially set up on site. Amidst laughter and joy, the participants won custom gifts while deepening their understanding of the medical insurance policy.
